Getting dog to take tablets

I found the trick was to give two treats, the first with the pills and the second a blank. Make sure the dog sees the second treat when it is given the first and it will gulp the first in it's haste to not miss out on the second. Another way is to have another dog there who may steal the treat if they don't eat it quick.

Dog safe (xylitol free) peanut butter, webbox chew sticks, easipill putty, squirty cheese, Kong paste, plain yoghurt, potted meat pate, chicken skin, corned beef... May be worth seeing if any of them are able to be crushed & then added to the tasty treat (not all tablets can be)

It sounds daft but I've found dropping them on the floor and pretending to scramble to pick them up worked best for Ginny.
Brilliant! I’ve been doing this on occasion recently. Usually my dog eats her tablet in her food but sometimes leaves it so I accidentally drop it and quickly “save it” just for her from the other dogs ?

Ours are all pretty greedy, so on a morning before feeding time so they are hungry, I have a handful of kibble, then give one at a time, biscuit, biscuit, pill, biscuit by hand ? helps if another dog is watching, they'll eat anything

My second st poodle had to take meds all her life..I used either very thin turkey slices or cheese, squeezed the tabs inside and posted them to the back of her mouth..then I would follow up with a piece of turkey ,without anything in,to be free fed from the floor..worked every time.
