Hi,
All i want to do is find another foal friend for my filly around where i live near Reading and am having no luck. Its getting me down a bit now. Have found 2 nice sounding places but they are still quite far away and they would look after her and I really want to do that.
Am now thinking about maybe buying a welsh d weanling to keep her company for a few years then back and sell but really having 4 horses of my own and 2 that I ride is just getting a bit silly!!
Am really fed up about where she will go when its time for her to come home from the stud (near Christmas) which is over an hour away.
Am going to put an ad in the local tackshops tomorrow so that might help <fingers crossed>
Ive asked everyone i know, spent ages trawling the internet and still nothing. Any ideas???

personally I would buy a weanling at the sales and do as you said. You could sell it before breaking if you don;t want that effort. But it would be far easier to have one of your own as a companion than have someone elses as you would always have the other owner to consider when doing anything. I personally would not want to send my youngster away as it is the most important time of their life and so much can go wrong. I love having my yearling around, I handle him daily and he is changing every day. Don't miss her growing up by sending her somewhere else if you have the space to keep her at home

Thanks for replying. I do want her at home for the same reasons you say.
What kind of sales are there?
I have never brought a horse like that. I have been to aTB sale and a friend always picks up weanlings from the New Forest sale but think I would need to buy a type that after i had backed him/her I wouldnt want to keep. I cant keep collecting horses really, its getting silly! Esp as I dont have my own land so everything I keep I pay for on DIY livery
