I had planned to go out for the first ride on Chad since I got him on 23 December.

However, it snowed again overnight and then froze and the yard is like an ice rink and the ground rutted and hard so no riding today.

I came home and loolked at the weather forecast and we are expected to have snow every night this coming week and sub zero temps, so don't think I will be riding anytime soon.

Not fair *stamps feet tantrum stylee*

Same here, I managed to ride on the 31st and NYD but since then we have had yet more snow and ice and it is expected all this week with temperatures barely reaching above freezing

I can symapthise, daughters 2 arrived 7 weeks ago and she's managed to ride them about 5 times each but only down the road and back, and once (Saturday) in the field she managed a little canter, otherwise just too icy or wet or snowy!

Hasn't been too bad since xmas eve here and have managed to get out generally - however, bad weather is supposed to be back this week so am contemplating letting him down for a month... Also need to move yards in the next couple of weeks so am praying roads aren't too bad

I'm thinking of giving D a week's holiday. All this snatching bits of exercise here and there is just too stressful. Might just accept that it's not going to happen.

On the plus side, the evenings are getting lighter!

Agree with you all here, it is so frustrating. Moved to a new yard nearer to home at the end of November and the school is now frozen and hardly geting out on roads because of snow and ice. My old yard had rubber chip school that didn't freeze, am missing that already x
