After a difficult youngster, a broken arm and a having a young baby my confidence was at an all time low and I was seriously thinking of giving up. I had another young horse who wasn't the easiest so given my loss of confidence this was not a good mix. I had her up in livery at a yard at Easter to get her started after a break. When I was there I headed out on a hack with one of the other liverys and my little girl was a little star gave the other horse a lead a couple if times. Given how worried I was about going out it gave me such a confidence boost.

I am now hacking the wee lady out at home and riding her on my own. I had a lesson with my trainer today and she was fab. I am now thinking of competing her. So I am very slowly getting my confidence back. The thought of a beach ride or jumping still scares the life out of me but I am hoping I will be able to do these some day.

The reason I posted this is to say hi after a long break from hho and to hear how other posters regained their confidence.

Very glad to hear that your confidence is getting stronger and that your progressing with your horse well. As someone who has struggled significantly with their confidence in the past, it's all about finding a horse that you trust and not only builds your confidence on them but on other horses too. Hope you have a good year with your youngster whatever you get up to, who knows jumping or a beach ride may not be as far away as you think.
