My horse (9 yr old, ISH) is very green with his jumping, having been kept mostly as a pet for the first 7 years of his life.

I have a couple of issues - at the moment, I have a pure dressage saddle and am getting a new one (as well as the dressage one) next week, so do I go for a GP saddle or a jumping one?

Other issue - how do I get started with the jumping? I want to do things absolutely right. At the moment, he takes off from anywhere - stands off or gets in deep. However, he does have a good jump, but tends to go on his head a bit.

Any advice greatly appreciated! Thanks

i get on well with my gp for showjumping!!Placing poles will help you both a lot....a few canter poles before a small cross to start, then slowly move on to grids
