I have one - the pro event...its the only model off the peg that fits my lad - high, wide withers and then low, flat back....
it's ok, very nice for dressage or showing but not so good for jumping or fast work...mind you im a dinky person on a big horse so i need a lot of leverage in terms of knee rolls etc [also im crap]
I have one, love it! But it does have a disadvantage for me. Mine has a slight band in the tree which has a slight effect on the fit. But this is only a disadvantage as mine is so tricky to fit saddles to. Gfs are a good quality make.
I've got the Pro Event and have had it for 7-8 years but it still looks really good. The knee rolls have turned a lighter colour than the rest of the saddle but other than that it's in amazing condition for a well used saddle.
I have a VSD which has been brilliant - hoping to sell it IF the Farrington I bought fits my boy! The GFS was very comfy and fitted my mare perfectly even though she was high withered and wide.
I have the pro event model, it's 6 years old now and still looks like new even though it's my everyday saddle. Its super comfy and my Anglo Arab goes really well in it. My saddler says I could still sell it now for what I paid for it!
Has anyone seen or ridden in the new Monarch GFS jumping saddle yet?? Was chatting to a saddle fitter (who funnily enough, sells them...) yesterday and she was telling me how good they are... I've never even seen a GFS saddle in the flesh.
for all you people who love GFS saddles i have one for sale which i just cant seem to shift, sadly no longer fits my boy so is just gathering dust. have to agree with everyone thou it was uber comfy!!
PM if you know of anyone looking (its a narrow so i wont hold my breath!!!)
