Giant poodles???

Boyfriend and I have spent the day searching for them on the net. We met one the other week who we fell in love with but cannot find much on the net only a few pics and stuff but no info on breeders or anything.

Are they just a form of standard poodles that grow too big, much like a cob/maxi cob I am going mad ?

I know of a nice young one up for rehoming in rescue at the moment along with a couple of older GSD's who need experienced homes.

Tbh never heard of Giant Poodles, don't think they are KC recognised. Could well be they are just oversize standard poodles. How big are they to the shoulder?

The only poodles recognised by the KC are Standard, Toy and Miniature.

Standard is anything over 38 cms, mini must be under 38cms but not under 28 cms and toy are under 28cmx.
 
Thanks for confirming that . Quite interesting that there is no maximum height for Standards. Wish they did the same for GSDs, used to have a cracking dog who did a lot of winning but never got to the top because he was way oversize. Perhaps we should have called him a Giant GSD.
I have known some really lovely standard poodles, and they are excellent workers too.
