Looking for ideas! Obviously she already has all the essentials, but can anyone think of a nice gift that will come in useful at the new yard? I'm out of ideas!!

Depends on what you mean, for the horse or her? One thing I wouldnt be without is my double rug rail which I got from Robinsons, cost around £12.50 and its great. New grooming box, grooming kit to go in it?

Mmmm, what about something my dear old mum gave me, which has been SO useful over the years; its a "posh" thermos flask, the sort of thing people would take fishing, hunting or whatever. Its got a keep-hot flask, plus a set of two cups & little containers for tea, coffee or whatever. You can zip the whole thing up and its like a shoulder bag! Really lightweight too, and you've always got a nice hot drink for those chilly winter days at the yard or whatever.

Absolutely brill. Dunno where mum got it tho' - might have been something like Scotts of Stow or the RNLI gift catalogue? But any good hunting/shooting/fishing set-up should have one.

Totally indespensible, couldn't manage without it.

Thankyou for the ideas!! I don't mind if it's for the horse or her,or a combination of both!!

I like the idea of a new grooming kit, perhaps I could get a nice big one like you can take to shows, and add in things for her too

I like the idea of the flask(may have to treat myself to one too!!) I'll have a look for that! :-)

You could make the flask part of the grooming kit, something for both horse and rider. My friend has a stainless steel type flask, unbreakable, keeps the coffee very hot and its been fab when we have been off to Dressage. Think it came from a Camping shop or something similar.

How about a really nice leather headcollar, one of the ones with a little brass plate with the horse's name engraved on it?

I love the idea of a leather head collar! And putting the horses name on it will prevent anyone from pinching it!! ;)

I've found a nice grooming kit bag, that I'm tempted to buy too!
