You can get appaloosa's without spots, but that one definitely has too much of a tail!

My friend has an appaloosa that is solid bay I always thought it was a breed not a colour, is that right? xx

It's both a breed and a colour

To be honest though, it's not very hard to get things registered as an Appaloosa (breed), so wouldn't surprise me if it was A lot of them are solid coloured and like, 80% quarter horse...

I have a solid bay Appaloosa....

No spots whatsoever but he is Registered with the british Appaloosa society

His mum is a top show appy

Mine also has quite a thick mane and tail!

Probably just a mistake when they selected the breed (if they chose from a drop down menu?)
Looks a lot like a friesian to me...
