The video footage of Ginger is now on the rockley farm blog. I have been told that he isn't as bad as expected which is great news. I still understand there is a way to go but it's a little bit of good news for me and Ginger!! It's been a week since he went and I miss him loads, iv had him 9 years and the longest I have been away from him is 2 weeks so this is going to be hard but he's at the best place :-)

Brilliant. When will you see him?

I spoke to a horse listener about my gelding who got quite stressed when I went away on business. He was OK for the first few days and then stepped on the stress escalator! Isobel told me to find out what the phase of the moon was goign to be when I was due to return and hold that picture in my mind when I was leaving him.

I know it sounds daft - :) and it may have been that it made me less stressed about leaving him - but it worked and he has been pretty relaxed about me going away for a long time now.

He looks like a very sweet boy :)
I like the pictures of him and Soli playing in the snow ;)
I know how you feel, I've had Soli 7 years and am missing him like crazy :( Nic takes excellent care of them though, I dont think Soli is missing me much :p

Frankie went through a stage of self harming when I went away for business, I. Would get emails or texts that started “the vet's been and everything's fine but ...“. He settled very well at Rockley though.

The first time I went to visit I walked into the barn and didn't see him as he was in the first box on the right
I'd walked past him and didn't realise till I heard a very indignant neigh behind me.

Its definitely the hardest thing for owners, having their horses miles away :-( We are fortunate though to have a very settled group of horses here and a fairly peaceful yard(!) so generally they are very chilled out when they are here. Ginger certainly seems right at home at the moment - I liked that photo of him and Solomon as well - gents together :-)

Wow! That all sound very interesting with the moon, iv never heard anything like that before. I don't think I have anything to worry about though as I can see from the pics he is thoroughly enjoying himself and not missing me!

I'm hoping to go and see him in the new year, train tickets are very expensive from lancs to Devon :-)

When Bailey W was there he was far more interested in Nic than me, despite having had him from a yearling!!!!!!! he would call to her an not me :-( talk about the 'hand that feeds you'! I was most put out, he was very chilled there though and despite me missing him loads he didn't miss me one bit!x

When I used to go down I found it much cheaper to get 2 singles e.g a return from london to barnstaple was £64 but the singles started at £12. Plus it's worth checking trains via waterloo rather than paddington which can cost less though it takes a bit longer.
