do people with dogs find they get on better with their dog that are of the opposite sex to them or does it not seem to make much difference?

I know with our cats, Frankie (the boy) is very much my cat (i am a girl!) and Chili (the girl) is the same with my o/h. Chili has no interest in me if the o/h is around but if he is not here, she likes me much more!

we only have 1 dog - Chimo (a girl) and in the past she listened to me far more than the o/h but now as she is getting older, she seems to prefer him more....

am i losing my pup to the o/h! (might need to get another dog

!!!)

Hmm...I don't think its anything to do with gender but dogs (especially inuits) will take the most authoritive/dominant of the two of you as boss or pack leader. GSD is dads dog even though I feed her e.t.c she looks upto my father more. But all of the inuits dote on me and aren't really interested in mum or dad.

How is Chimo? Ah yes, any excuse for another puppy

Chimo is great thanks, she is asleep on the sofa at the moment! (o/h swore he would not let the dog on the sofa but gave in rather quickly.....)

Now that Chimo is allowed on the sofa make your OH sit on the floor....now that would be rather comical

Thats simlar to my mum and dad, heidi loves dad and Beano and Gnasher love mum BUT my female inuits LOVE me and aren't interested in either my mother or father...maybe inuits are just wierd

Opposite. Although, that said, my girls are the same towards me as my boys - except Jim but he's gone all soppy since his furry plums were removed!!

The girls go more whappy for dad than they do mum, and the boys more mum than dad

Opposite..........that's why I got my JRT (male) as I was fed up being ignored my my dads and brothers Labs (both bitches), they were fine if I took them out hacking, but at home, just didn't want to know me any more!!!
