I know you're not meant to change tack between the WH jumping part and the ridden bit but what about girths? Got the Highland Show tomorrow and will need a stud girth for the jumping part but would like to swop to a neater normal girth for the ridden/show bit. This allowed?

Damn it. Ok, thanks

Wonder what the reasoning behind this rule is...?

You have always had to take the boots off for the showing part so the judge can look at the legs, nothing to do with spiked boots.

does this mean that if i had a french link to jump i would have to have that for the showing or could i use a double bridle (as this is wat he is schooled in but for some reson wont jump in it)

There is NO change of tack in the class - you jump and do the flat show in exactly the same tack for the whole class. The only things you can change are your hats and the whip, and the only item you MUST remove from the horse are the boots.

spot on ffm Nothing changes only hats and whips. and boots for the horse. If you do change some one will be quick to complain and you could be eliminated. thetas showing for you. a friend of mine's daughter won a working hunter once and she didn't realise she had her spurs on upside down - someone complained about it and she was disqualified. All because some one wanted her place.Good luck at highland.
