Looking for a wool girth cover that is suitable for a short girth. My dressage girth is only 20" and alot of the girth covers i can find are 25" at the shortest - any recommendations or do i just go with some overhang!

Also, any advice on keeping them clean or cleaning them - our school has black sand / rubber which flicks up and is quite messy!

Have you looked at nuumed? They will make whatever size you want.

I got one at Blair and I regularly wash it in the machine at 30c with wool liquid. It's as good as when I got it and it's been used daily and washed once a week. I've got a synthetic one I use when it's being washed but want to get another couple to make life easier.

As much as I would have liked natural I went for brown and that avoids any stain issues.

Pair of scissors....?

my daughter's dressage girth is 18". I got 2 girth sleeves for the price of one. (I cut one big one in half...) Both are pure sheepskin (obviously...) and neither has frayed or anything.

Might have to consider the scissors option. I was looking more at the le mieux style ones that are sheepskin on one side and then have the straps that go round the girth.
