Anyone's experience with girth Galls / patches that are rubbed bald?

Had a lovely jump saddle fitted a few years ago, with a long girth and all has been well. Plan was to always get dressage saddle equivalent (awkward shaped NF) so after a couple of years of looking... Source what I'm after. Have it fitted by saddle fitter, saddle has issues with moving forward... Which were dealt with, then cue both short girths I purchased have rubbed my mare in two places. Totally mortified....

Now have a sensitive mare, with two bald patches where the girth rubbed only on one side and a slightly raised patch, but no broken skin or wound.

Am using surgical spirit and Gold Label skin hardener gel and back riding in jump saddle with long girth.... Any more suggestions please for clearing these up? She's never had a mark on her before, I am beyond mortified!

story of my life ;) chestnut, forwards girth groove, had to be very careful around coat change time as always worse for bald patches then. Didn't ever tend to get raised, would end up with a bald patch under girth and down the back of his overly wrinkly elbows (wrinkly enough that the saddler who brought a prolite out for us to try commented on them having never met him before)

Always worse with leather
Better clipped
pro choice ventech never rubbed but it didn't do quite as much work as the other options (ie he retired before hunting the next year etc)
harry dabbs waffle worked fairly well, wtih added dead sheep at the elbows at critical times.

(the other non chestnut one can also be prone, also forwards groove with the addition of no shoulders and being bum high = saddle wanting to go forwards, she has been fine with an ideal affinity F2 and elbow sheep as required).
