Girth help

Hi all, I'm in need of some
Girth advise!! My boy has started to get very sore in his girth area, no sore patches or rubs but very sensitive to touch and when I'm grooming him, which isn't his usual self! I'm going to book him in for his back to be checked ASAP as he's started napping and being generally uncooperative when ridden. Does anyone have any advise on best girths to use. He's currently in a leather one with no elastic. Thanks

Sounds like it's either a back or saddle issue. I'd bet on saddle as my friends horse acted exactly the same when being tacked up and it turned out her saddle was way too narrow. All worth checking out anyway.
