Girth problems……...

is there anywhere that i can get a girth with bigger buckles? my dressage saddle seems to have excessively big straps and normal girths such as Wintec amongst others don't work, the straps just get stuck and it is nearly impossible to get it tight enough for the saddle not to move. Would like to add that it is a short dressage girth needed, can anyone help or have any suggestions?

Would it be possible or easier to get the girth straps changed? should be easy enough on a dressage saddle? I thought that buckles were pretty much standard size on girths?
 
I like your thinking, i have been searching all horse stores and the internet for quite some time and would quite like to be able to use my dressage saddle without having a full blown work out first! I think you're right, changing the straps would be easier

You don't have to change the straps, just get them trimmed a little narrower (this is the sort of thing I would do myself, but then I am quite handy and do leatherwork as part of our business).
 
The straps are too thick as well as too wide…… they would be ok if they were single straps and a tougher leather but they are very soft and thick so it is two pieces of leather sewn together. I haven't done a very good job of explaining but i hope you can get the idea (my descriptive words have left me this evening).
