Could anybody tell me if the girth for a jumping saddle would normally be double the size of the girth for a dressage saddle?

I am just about to get a jumping saddle for my boy but have no idea what size girth to get - his current dressage girth is 24".

Also could anybody recommend me a shaped girth which either has elastic at both ends or just in the middle.
Thanks

I don't think this will be of much help but Sol is a 54'' in long girths , wear a 34'' in her CC event saddle and wears a 30'' in her dressage saddle

I am sure I read somewhere you add on 20'' or there abouts to a dressage girth sizing

Unfortunately i think it totally depends on the saddle!! I went from one dressage saddle to another and had to buy another girth due to one having long long straps and the other having shorter long straps...if you know what i mean!!

I had never heard any theories about relationships between girth lengths but one of ours has 18" dressage and 48" jumping

I agree with Saratoga that it's mostly in the length of the flap and straps.

Wintec and Thorogood do nice wipe clean ones with elastic both ends or just one end, in black and dark brown, just under £20 I think. We've had ours for a while and they seem to wear well. The saddler should let you take a couple to try - or there is always a tapemeasure.
