I'm looking for a new girth for my two.
At the moment I have one in a humane and one in a throughgood wipe clean jobby.
I want to change from the humane as I'm worried if one of the straps break I'll could have a nasty accident.
I don't mind a throughgood one but I need a bigger size so was wondering what you guys use and what you recommend?

The wintec wipe clean with elastic on one side are good for everyday wear and tear! And i did summit naughty yesterday and had to put the elastic on the side i did up cause Ted's too fat for it so there vey versatile!

Most of ours have the Wintec ones, they are great, we have never had any problems with them and they are very easy to clean. Otherwise I would go leather!

Going off course as I dont use Wintec / thorowgood girths, I love my Stubben string girth! Its brilliant. Its nice and wide so distributes pressure, and is the best for hot days as it limits sweating unlike any other girth Ive tried. Its also very soft so its the only girth to have not rubbed my thin skinned TB. So easy to wash too.

Thanks guys.
I think I will get one wintec elastic girth that I can try on both my guys to see if they get on with it.

MagicMelon- I was told about these before but I don't like string girths, I no these new ones dont rub/pinch etc but there is something about them I can't stand.

ive got jeffries leather ones, which are lovely, or a stubben string girth, which i have to say i used for years and never ever had any probs with it!!! but as you say, alot of people dont like them

i never use girths with elastic on one end only... a saddler told me that when a horse jumps a decent-sized fence and lifts its shoulders, the elastic will give and cuse the saddle to jack-knife on the spine, causing some horses to veer in midair. so, my fave is a very padded girth with the elastic in the middle, over the padding sleeve, so not touching the horse at all. or, stubben string girths are brilliant, or otherwise kay humphries' fabric girths are inexpensive, comfy, washable... perfect.

Stubben string girths are THE BEST!!! Great for saddles that slip, really keeps them in place and ehhh I just love them!! I also have a very old three fold leather girth that I love.
