We lost a 9 year old mare at our yard today to a twisted gut and it just bought home how
fragile these creatures are. She was led up from the field at 9 am as she didn't look right and by 11am she was gone. She was a misereable old boot at times but she was fab to ride and felt like you could clear the moon on her. R.i.p miracle aka the little dressage pony you will bevery sorely missed :(

I lost my previous horse in similar circumstances - it does make you think that maybe we want our horses to be better in one way or another but maybe we should just (for a while at least) appreciate what we have and show our horses how much we do appreciate them!
You have my heartfelt sympathy regarding your loss today.

RIP Miracle and so so many big hugs to you Hun and yes we always face the sudden loss of our beloved horses hence why I never tire of looking into my beautiful mares eyes and thinking "god Im lucky"

Take care hun and in time you will remember the good times and not the memoeries of your loss

xxxxxx
