Any tips?!

Ivy is getting ever better at sifting and spitting out her flea and worming tablets. When I'd crushed one up into raw tripe last month and she barely went for that, I was done! Vets have given a spot on which does everything except tapeworm and so I still have three tablets to try to get down her every 6 months.

I've even contacted out old vets as couldn't remember the brand of chewable flavoured tablets we have through them. At this rate I'm going to have to weigh up cost of Pet Club vs. Prescription charge and sourcing it online instead.
You can get a separate spot-on that is tapeworm only. (Droncit).
Drontal plus come in a bone shaped meat flavour version. (That's multi-worm, including tapes)
Both are available over the counter.

I always get Drontal from the vet as I thought you needed a prescription. Do you know if Drontal plus is the same as the vets use? If so I will order online , would be much cheaper as I have 3 dogs, thanks

Drontal Plus doesn't need a prescription you can buy it on-line.
Or Easimax plus, which is the same active ingredients but an ordinary tablet, isn't flavoured & is cheaper.

Sorry, only just saw this.
I get mine from Hyperdrug. It's where I buy my sheep & cattle wormers etc so I get a lot of things at once so the postage is free.

That’s ok, I’m registered with Animed direct as I used to use them for my horse, have just ordered some , thankyou for making me realise I could get it without prescription. I must be dim as I just assumed I could only get it from the vet

Mine gets his tablets in half a slice of cooked ham, rolled up tightly around the tablets like a cigar, and then gently posted down his long snoot so that he tastes the ham and just swallows the roll whole, rather than chewing and then gobbing out.

If he’s sick or sorry and has no appetite, then they get manually placed at the back of his tongue, jaws held closed and angled up until he swallows - can be a good few minutes!

I put any tablets in our dogs dinner and cover it in a pump of Buggalugs Salmon oil. It's worked on both pill takers so far! If i don't use the oil the tablets will be left in the bowl when the food is gone.
