Had my 13.2 up for sale for a while. She is fast, but not strong at all,had next to no interest in her ad,she has no vices, no faults at all, honest pony who loves her job, she's such a perfect little girlie, she will hack anywhere and jump anything but still not a thing, to me she is so perfect(but i'm her owner,so slightly bias!) and the time is getting closer where we getting more desprate for her to go shes not getting what she needs off me and with the new horse here she is being wasted,,so what do i do now,i know its not a good time to sell as it is, but shes not stupidly priced either. I will be so sad to see her go as she has taught me everything, but seeing her going to waste is killing me too :( Not sure what to do/ try next! Any advice would be hugely helpful, thankyou

A friend of mine shut her riding school when she was pregnant and was left with 6 ponies who needed new homes but she didn't want to sell them. They were young and knew they needed work, attention and to be fussed over, so she contacted riding schools and they all got snatched up instantly. They are out on full loan, she gets to visit them whenever she wants, and they give her regular updates and photos on how they are doing. As soon as the school don't deem them fit or well enough for their jobs, she will get them back. One of them is returning next summer ready for retirement : ) Another friend had the same problem with her strong little 14.2 mare in that she couldn't sell her, and again approached a riding school and they took her. She is now pampered by all the children and settled in really well.

As I read this I thought of exactly the same solution as Sophstar.
Try offering her to a reputable riding school on loan. A lot of places can't afford to buy ponies so this suits them as well as you.
Make sure that they're happy to let you see her whenever you like, without warning and state anything you do or do not want to happen to her. I had a girlfriend who put her AngloArab on loan and the first thing they did was pull her mane. Yuck!
You never know - putting her on loan may find her a new owner!

Only through word of mouth to people who are members,as i arent now. Could you still ad even if your not a member?

Yes - just go onto their PC org website. Allso you could e-mail the local branches to have it put in their newsletters - sounds like an ideal PC pony. Try cards in all the local tack shops/feed merchants, the free ads or adtrader and try an online add with H&H.

You have to pay for an H&H online add, but when I sold a TB, I had no interest until i put an H&H add up and I sold to the first caller and the phone rang of the hook until I got it taken down. I cant remember how much a H&H online advert was, but it would be less that £20 (or I wouldnt have done it!).

Good luck

Thankyou everyone, the riding schools sound good only i ideally need the money off her, also not sure how i'd feel about having any tom dick or harry on her,and dancing queen i have pm'd you it so i didnt get told off for advertising, will defo try the pc ones, shes a defo pc pony! And her ad is on horsemart but it has gone dodgey and sometimes wont show up im not happy about that x

I want her. :(

If I win the lottery will most definitely buy her off you. ;)

If I hear of anyone looking will send them your way, also just had a look at your advert and is very good.

i think she is well worth the money - perhaps she is too cheap.

I would drop horse exchange as they are not user friendly - i probably missed a good few horses when i was looking because it was such a crap site.

as for horsemart - i just couldnt get to grips with it - I found horsedeals simple and easy to use - as was adhorse.

i have the most honest 5 year old NF for full loan. winning machine, jumps anything, and love it. great to hack ect. no interest. i gave up in the end!

I think you'll find that it's all down to the current economic situation. My daughters 15.1 gelding is up for loan. Had a couple of numpties come and look but other than that, Nothing! Very little is selling at the moment and in some cases you can;t even give them away.

I hope you sell her soon though.

a while ago i sold a horse - i advertised him for 3 months - he had done very littl e but had a great lot potential - i priced him accordingly and got nothing - upped the price - a little more - then someone said he is way too cheap - against my better judgement (so i thought) i put an extra grand on the price- the phone didnt stop ringing and i was able to choose his new home - a vet! was very happy that i got a price i had never imagined and he went to a fantastic home where he wanted for nothing x
