We have had him 5 weeks now and he has played round the settee before, however this time he thought i would be fun to go inside it

we have a leather recliner and at the back the leather is just velco. All of a sudden it went quiet hubby went to look and all we could see was his tail bless him he didnt panic just lie there however hubby did panic and tells me his head his stuck

i slowly opened the chair to see what i could see and his head was NOT stuck he was just wedged so i picked one end up whilst hubby pulled him out

he just came trotting out as if to say that was fun. He was stuck in between the two metal frames. My poor hubbys face made my heart sink as i thought he had done something really bad the thoughts that went through my head was awful. So now we have pillows at each end of the settee stopping him going anywhere.

We have the same type of sofa so I can understand your panic.
Our dogs are too big to get under the sofa fortunately but they do like to lie under the leg rest when it is up, we have to check they aren't there before putting it down.

We have the same sort of sofa too! The little JRT Poppy likes to go under the leg rests searching for dropped crumbs... I just start lowering it until she darts out looking offended.

My grandma didn't realise she was there once and slammed her feet down really hard, we thought she'd killed her

but Poppy just walked out, had a little shake and wandered off!
