Anyone ever heard of a tack cleaning product called Jo-Jo's? Sunny's bridle is getting a bit tired looking - not surprising since I clean his tack thoroughly about once every alternate blue moon. It's now looking a nice matt black but I wanted a soft, shimmering glow. Owner at the yard swears by this Jo-Jo's but not sure if I've got the name right or if anyone has heard of it would you recommend it? Anyone got any other favourite product for bringing back the gleam in tack?

I use Grand Prix Leather Gloss - brings it up a treat

Can buy online or via ebay and delivery is pretty quick

Best is a bar of glycerine saddle soap melted down with some milk.

Pour back into tub & let set.

Just clean it properly REGULARLY, that should do the trick!

Just lots of work and elbow grease.
If you want your leather conditioned with a gleam, you need to get some leather conditioner and keep rubbing it in, the leather will absorb it and this helps prevent your tack cracking and makes it easier to clean in the future; and because the tack is conditioned it will have more 'life' in it which will help with the natural gleam. Also, you can get clear leather boot polish, this works equally as well on tack, just don't put it on the underside as you end up with a shiny horse if you're not careful.

Good luck

Oh rats! You mean only cleaning it before a dressage show isn't often enough? Hangs head in shame. I'm off now to (a) write out 100 times "I must clean my tack more often" and (b) track down some Grand Prix Leather Gloss. Thankies guys xxx
