My daughter's horse has been lame since July, complicated by tying up in August. He has been looked at by the vet several times and he is due back later this week. On his recommendation the horse has had his poll and SI manipulated separately. One "back person" also recommended a magnetic or Back on Track rug. In desperation to help I also tried GH Alphabute. Horse seems slightly easier after only a couple of days. My question is ... should I stop using this before the vet comes back? I know it is not a bute substance but don't want to mask any pain when the vet here. However something seems to be helping!

I would stop it before the vet comes to see him, I think by now I would be pushing for a diagnosis, if he has SI problems they may be the root cause but may well be due to him compensating elsewhere, if the alphabute seems to help why not use bute or danilon under veterinary advice if you are going to try working through the lameness.
