Has anyone used them?
I have bought some to try and get my horse hacking out alone- he doesn't really need a calmer as he is good in company.
I read that it works within 1-3 hours!! I dont really call this instant, The rides i will do at first is just a 40 min circle so i am a bit confused as to when i give the calmer.
I finish work at 1pm and have to pick up my daughter at 3pm.
Is there something else maybe that would be better?
 
Oh damn! I was hoping for a miracle cure!- Its him, he's always been like it in new situations and i know after the first several times alone he will be just fine, its just a case of doing it.
He's fine going out, in fact really very good but coming along the last bit of road home is an absolute nightmare. He used to do the exact same thing with other horses we got over it with just one other and then worked on groups so i am sure he will come right in not very long alone aswell.
I may well try the rescue remedy aswell though anything is worth a go for a couple of weeks!
 
From our experience would never use one again. Gave one to the cob for a showing class, and he just kept peeing over and over again - about 6 times on the trot. It got to the stage where it looked like we had drugged him for the ring. It was embarrassing and more worrying too as I was distraught because I had given it to him. He is never normally like this.

We now use MagiCalm instant calmer and its great. Takes the edge off him straight away.
