Global Herbs Metabolic Tonic

I have been using this over the past month. However, I have used it in combination with changing a few ways in how I manage my horses too so it is hard to say whether it was the tonic, the managment changes, or a bit of both! I got the liquid version. Horses weren't super keen on it but did eat it and my guys are pretty fussy! It was reccommended to me by someone who swears by it :) Sorry I can't be of more help!

It depends what issues your horse is having and what you want it to do but there are far better products out there for dealing with IR and the metabolism. Have a look at RonFields Remount, Science Supplements LiverAid, diet and exercise.

Thank you both, I’m considering it for my Shetland who can get a bit cresty at times but he is very fussy so may not eat it.
HappyHollyDays I’ll have a look at the other products you mention.

If this stuff really worked, I would be putting on my cereal every morning. Have a really good look at the ingredients. A lot of these products use Magnesium which we know can aid metabolic challenges in humans but there is little quantified research for horses.

As in humans significant changes in metabolic rate can be made through exercise. I saw a crowd who are developing HIIT for equines which I’m following as that gave my knackered body the metabolic change it needed.

Thanks Bonnie Allie, I’m just looking for something as a back up measure really to dot all the ‘I’ s if you see what I mean. My Shetland is exercised regularly, so much so that he’s had to have front shoes put on but he still has the odd time where his crest comes up and he can get slightly footy. At these times I keep him in but I was looking for something that might help with this

If your pony is struggling on occasions you describe then I really rate the Remount. It’s a detox and swiftly eliminates the toxin which cause the problems and although expensive for a 10 day course it really does work and worth every penny when it’s an emergency.

I looked it up when you mentioned it above but I wasn’t sure it was what I was looking for - however I’m going to have another look and will perhaps email RonFields. Thank you
