Glossy stuff for manes in the show ring!

I have just bought a Welsh Sec B who I plan to show in-hand. Ive noticed in a lot of photos of them being shown, their manes seem to be held in place with some sort of hairspray / gel? What kind is the best to use which'll keep the mane all on one side and neat but also shiny and natural looking?!

I use a human hair shine serum directly after washing and leave it to dry, then use back and white hair pomade after. its ace, you only use a little bit but it keeps those stray hairs down and has brilliant shine. Its about £3 from asda.

Cheap - little pig oil brushed through but be careful not to use too much - also great in final rinse water.

Expensive - alva products - excellent and worth every penny for the body.

For Chancer's mane and tail, for that really special shine I swear by Supreme products Supreme Sparkle.

I personally don't do anything to keep Chancer's mane in place as it is supposed to be free flowing and moving with him. I have in the past used a little hairspray to give his feather more body and this could be carefully put on the mane - try experimenting before you go to your show.

I also use megatek and survivor from tailgator to keep his mane, tail and feather in tip top condition.

I just use any serum from asda, Charles Worthington has been good. Just remember dont use alot of both products. put tiny bit in the palm of your hand and rub them together then just stroke on and add as needed!!!

Alva for the hair, and a bit of pomade just to make sure the mane stays over on the correct side.
