Glove issue - long fingers

I have long fingers but a narrow palm. If I measure around my palm for my glove size I need a size 7, but my fingers are too long to fit in comfortably. If I get a larger size for my long fingers I have too much glove around my palm. Do gloves vary in fit like boots do? Would certain brands be better for my stupid hands or shall I cut the tips off my gloves so my fingers can stick out do the end? ;)

Gloves do vary but I've found riding gloves better than non riding gloves. Tailor made might exist for £££ but I've accepted somewhat baggier options. Roekl was good but I just try on loads

I've got quite long fingers and I wear Roeckl Chesters as they have a short cuff so I can buy the size that fits my fingers and tighten across the back as necessary :) I'm so so fussy about gloves, if they are wrong I feel like I can't hold the reins :p

I would be interested be in this too :)

I have narrow palms and long fingers and I bought some John Whitaker comp gloves and wore a hole on all the fingers as my fingers are too long even though they fit everywhere else! Very frustrating when I spent £30 for them to die in 2 minutes

I may invest in a pair of roeckl chesters - they seem a good shape

Mine get holes in the fingers. I have nowhere near me that stocks a good range of gloves to try on, so will have to make a trip up to ingatetone I think!

Check out TallFingers.com. TallFingers is an apparel company that designs gloves specifically for men and women with long fingers. They don't currently offer equestrian/riding gloves, but they may well in the near future. In the meantime, their long-fingered leather dress gloves might be worth a look. Hope that helps.

I have size 7 hands and long fingers and my fingers always punch through the ends of fingers (how many pairs of pimple palm gloves have I gone through for everyday wear!) I have roeckl Chester's and they have proved to be the best fit for me, I'm on my second pair (the first having gone on for a long time!). Very comfy and no issues with long fingers.

Me too!!!!

I like the Roeckl London gloves for warmer weather (although I'm surprised at how warm they do keep your hands, and liners work well under them) and the Horze Annie (softshell) for nippy days.

Try Tredstep gloves. I have the opposite problem & find Roeckl better for me but Tredstep are tight across the palm & too long in the fingers #sausagefingers!

Funny, I was going to say Roeckl too. I have long fingers and I have a pair (not sure which model) that fit beautifully, wash like a rag and have been going for several years now. And they have a lovely feel.

Me too, same thing: width fits 7s (at most), length fits 8s. Roeckl Chester are the best fit for me, but I also got a pair of SSG All-Weather on a whim, because they were on sale and matched my pony's competition colours (Endurance riders take colour matchy-matchy to new levels), and...they fit really well, and the feel is just about as good as the Roeckl.

Same problem here, and also have Roeckls, which are still slightly too short in the finger, but not bad at all compared to most.

Will have to look up Tredstep and SSGs - thanks for those tips.

I did try on some sporty-looking red John Whittakers a couple of years which seemed to fit:

They did also feel quite delicate and not for general use. Would probably give great feel, though. Wonder if these are the same ones tried by the earlier poster who said hers/his fell apart.
