Gloves for Hunting?

What do you wear? what is correct?

I find the reins get really slippery and I cant't grip very well! I did see someone wearing woolen ones the other day.

I wear those cheapy magic gloves. I don't like anything to bulky as I like to have a hold on my reins as the ones I ride are usually quite strong These seem to fit the bill perfectly, just keeping out the chill and don't break the bank either

Read of a good idea once, wearing woollen ones and tucking a spare pair under the girth straps, under the saddle flap - dry and warm pair at the ready if needed!!!
I have an insulated leather pair, maybe toggi or mark todd, can't quite remember.

Mmmmm. I have a woollen pair which are ok, and a pair of Mark Todd winter gloves, which aren't very grippy at all really. I see a lot of people wearing those Woof Wear gloves - I think they are neoprene so probably quite warm. I would like to find a really grippy pair of gloves.

I wear Roeckel Chester gloves. Seem to be enough to keep my hands warm on all but the very coldest of days, and are definitely grippy on a wet day or sweaty horse.

I don't find the neoprene Woof Wear gloves very good for when its wet, the rain seeps through or for when its cold. I do wear them with the thin medical gloves underneath for extra warmth and they kepe my hands dry. The can make your hands sweat though if its warm though

Try the MacWet brand, grippy in the wet and they dry quickly.

I wear cheap £1.25 one size fits all fingerless gloves, with a spare pair in my saddle bag. They keep your hands on and they are not to bulky and I don't have to remove them when I am doing gates.

I suffer from Reynauds in my hands and feet which can get quite intersting on a cold day.

The best gloves I have found are the Woof Wear fingerless mitten jockey gloves. They are neoprene on the outside but suede on the plan and have lovely long wrists to them Fab for hunting.

Roeckl XC grippy ones - even though most of the grips have worn away they still seem to have loads of grip with my biogrip reins. great combination.

Interesting that Sealskinz are mentioned. I find that the 'waterproof' quality which they claim does not exist in Exmoor rain!
