Can anyone recommend any gloves that have really good grip. I have always found my reins get longer and longer without me realising. Last night i was on board, and i took my jacket off and managed to drop my gloves at the same time. I carried on without them and was amazed at how much better grip i had. Only problem was that my hands had rubbed raw by the end of it!

Perhaps i just need to toughen up a bit!!

Thanks!

I have just bought some Tredstep Gloves, which I love! I have the Show Hunter ones, which are leather backed, but they have loads of different types. Mine seem to be very grippy so far, although they haven't been majorly tested. I prefer them to my Roekl Chester gloves, both in terms of fit and grippy-ness!

After much trial and error I now use macwet-bril even in wet weather and never get cold hands in them either despite them being lightweight

Handy tip - bob a very small amount of gunky gel or hair spray on your gloves, if that is you have a great comfortable pair that you like using and don't want to folk out for a new pair, obvioulsy in wet weather this wouldn't work quite as well but it gives your gloves that extra bit of grip.

I hate riding in gloves - I am only riding in gloves atm as its winter.

I only use Roeckl, as they are the only ones where I still feel I can hold the reins properly.

I use Macwets for competitions (otherwise the dog'd probably steal them if I left them about at the yard) and those cheap magic gloves (pimple grip) every day - but then I use rubber grip reins so I'm not sure how either of these'd fare with plain reins :)

My aunt gave me some of her old (but really nice) leather and crochet gloves a couple of moths ago, which are surprisingly grippy - I'm not sure of the brand though. Pity they're too small :(

I don't know the name but...
The very cheap (£1ish) gloves with the rubber pimples and velcro wrist strap are brilliant and super cheap and mine seem to last ages :D

For at home I use "bricklayers' gloves", the white cotton ones with the pimples (the more expensive ones make decent white show gloves) or the "wet grip" (fabric back, fingers and palm covered in plastic film) ones from Homebase or similar. Cheap, tough, comfortable and easy to replace. :)
