A term that’s being used widely across social media recently but, could you please show/tell me your glow up ponies. Ideally youngstock, what height they were at x months/years and what they ended up making. Hoping a little one I’ve got my hands on will grow at least another hand or two!

I have a few of these, although most are still in the growing phase so not 100% sure on final height but have a good idea.

Little Ernie at 6 months, very nervous and came from quite a dodgy place (dragon driving buy). Probably about 11.2.

And this summer as a 2 year old just a smidgen under 13hh. (I’ve bought the image and have permission to post on SM).

Thinking he should make 13.2/3 but maybe 14hh if I wish really hard 😂

Sorry this doesn't cover the youngstock aspect but is certainly a glow- up !

This was my lovely Tessy Bear ( The BOGOF HHO forum celeb !! from many moons ago)

The first two photos are what we started with , covered in mites hence the clipping of hair, big open wounds on her legs, mastitis and in foal

And the other photos are along her life with us. We were blessed with her presence for 5 short years before she developed lymphatic cancer and had to be PTS.

I am so incredibly happy those last few years were showered with the love and attention she deserved.

Wa Ha Dar was owned by Mel, a friend of mine. I think my mare had a foal by him, her first with her previous owner but it was a solid coloured colt and was sold on. Yours is very like him.

Ah yes I’ve spoken with her a bit over the years. Ben is very much like him and inherited his fab temperament.

I’ve spoken with her recently to find a Darius son to put my mare in foal too, found some options but haven’t decided yet.

This is Reggie our pity purchase (fully encouraged by HHO).
First photo at 9months when he arrived (Feb 22) full of worms and on his 5th home.
Second photo 12 months later.
Third photo last week playing dress up (we do this with the babies to make everything normal, he's not being driven yet).
He's 2yrs and 2 months now and is starting to look like a real pony now. He was around 12.2 when he arrived but stands at about 14hh now. I'm hoping he doesn't go over 15hh as I don't like being that far off the ground.

It took about 9months to clear the worms and then we had a field injury on his stifle which was a bit touch and go, followed by nearly losing him when gelded. He's had a bit of a run of bad luck but he's a lovely person to be around.

Slightly closer timeline than you want but thought I would post anyway!

When he arrived on 10th May 23 at 3yrs and a couple days old, unbacked - 16.2hh on the stick:

3yrs 2.5 months, unbacked, rather fat - quarter inch under 16.3hh:

Not the best photo, but the most recent - 3yrs 4 months old, slightly less fat but still porky, 17hh on the stick, very lightly backed and now having a holiday:

Just an update on this 1 year later. Cob youngster was 12hh this time last year. He’s now 13.1hh at the wither and 13.2hh at the bum. Very bum high.

He was supposed to be 18months when I bought him but that would’ve meant he was foaled January 2022 which I think sounds unlikely for a cob. He had his teeth done in August and dentist suspected he’s just turned 2 this Summer. Still has all baby teeth, doesn’t have some molars. So waiting for his adult teeth to come in around 2.5 years. It could be interesting height-wise!

The day he arrived 12 June 2014 as a 2yr old. He was supposed to be 14.1hh but barely made 13hh when I roughly measured him with a tape.

I mean he was also supposed to be fed, feet trimmed and cared for but hey ho...

He's been trying to die since 2023 with suspected Inflammatory Bowel Disease. This was taken on a rainy 4 August because he was finally plump. We got healthy bloods today, too, 2nd in a row since coming of steroids after a bad relapse this year 😁

My god IM, I had no idea he looked like that when he first arrived - what's the story there? (if you don't mind me asking of course!)
Handsome chap now though, lovely kind eye
He is a sweetheart! A combo of stress and a long journey I think but I have no idea why he dropped so drastically. He wasn’t heavy getting on the lorry in Ireland but he didn’t look like that either! He was also riddled with mites which I think he picked up from travelling with others which took about 2 months to get rid of them for good! And again he needed two doses of wormer - once he was done with Panacur 5 day he really picked up almost immediately!

Born July 2009, by October he was with a dealer in Cornwall in a barn full of youngsters.
Photos are November and December 2009, and then when he came home from backing summer 2013 and his first show a couple of weeks later, aged four.

I look back at the state he was in when he arrived and feel so angry. He was completely untouched, covered in lice and look at that belly.

Wow! Dex came off the lorry looking tucked up and a bit ribby (you can see in photo at the top of the thread) but I have never seen them drop off like your boy! Bless him.
