In the not too distant future we will be going affiliated. I am a little confused with regards to the 'Money' on the passport business.

My son is 13. (14 this October). He is riding a 14.2 pony. Measuring 148cm. His passport has 15 Irish Show Jumpig Points on it - which I believe equates to £37.50 in GBP.

I understand that when he reaches 16 he will have to move into horses with the BSJA but prior to that I have been told that he has to be a little careful about how much money he earns otherwise he'll win himself out of his class league.

Can anyone explain this system a little more to me. How much money can he have on his passport before it becomes a problem.

BN winnings of up to £100 are for seniors. im not sure about juniors, but yes you do have to be carefull as you can jump yourself out of certain classes. But there are also quite a few "opens" at various heights. bets plan would be to look at various junior schedules and see what there is.

However when he turns 16 you can register the same pony as a horse (ponies over 14hh can be registered as horses) and do senior classes, although pony cant do junior classes at same time (you do eiterh register as horse and do seniors, OR stay as a pony adn do juniors, not both at the same time.
