Why do you have to put her bit back in? Would I be right in assuming that you do a discipline that means you can't ride bitless?

Nope, shes had bad teeth which are sorted now. Shes had a few weeks to settle into a new way of eating and shes now able to take a bit without pain. And shes a blimmin strong moo!!

I went back to a bit due to loss of confidence a couple of years ago. When I did, I just put the bit in and rode! He hadn't been bitted in I think 3 years and I have to confess, I did no preparation at all. I think he mouthed it for all of 30 seconds and then remembered what it was all about!

In your case, due to the teeth, I would put the bit in as you used to and maybe lead her in it for general yard stuff, perhaps turning in and out. If she was bitted for a considerable time before you taking it out, she'll remember. Henry did!
