I have for about 14years had my own pony then horse, my horse is now retired and as I am at uni I had not got a new one but did have the opportunity to ride another one who unfortuntely was pts in january. I have now been unable to ride since beofre christmas due to bad weather prior to his death. I am now missing ti terribly and winding up OH majorly. i do have to do my old horse still but it is the riding i miss so much.
I am unsure whether i should start going back to riding lessons to try and have atleast some enjoyment. But i also know that going to riding lessons will be in no way what i had when i could ride my own and dont know if i will enjoy it. I am planning on getting a horse asap when i get a job hopefully by end of this year. I am not sure what to do? Shall i go back and give it a try or just wait and see, and take opportunities from friends to v. occassionally ride there horses?

If your missing it that much, then I would go to a riding school and try it. If it doesn't work out then you simply don't go back. Nothing to lose, and everything to gain :)

Advertise offering to exercise someone's horse in the local area. I would love for someone to regularly ride mine a couple of days a week, as during the week I am busy at work.

thanks nobelsteed thats a good idea, that would solve all my problems!! I will give it a go, and until i can get any offers i will try riding school i know the instructors so maybe they will just let me get on with it!! haha
