Or unshod as I call it!!... My horse coped well without shoes and had very tough feet for the first 5 months then I had to send him off to be re schooled - very traditional place- wouldn't work with him unless metal shoes in place-
Que a very confused owner- after much deliberating I put the shoes back on:-( and that has now continued for 4 months... And slowly my horses feet have lost condition, he looses shoes constantly and his feet quality is poor... After a rather rude farrier today I've had enough- they don't care about your horse(well none I've met) too busy to care and plenty more other customers who will take your place !!
So my barefoot trimmer is back Saturday - he's so lovely and so good with horses!
Last time we never supplemented so doing it properly this time, my trimmer said my horses feet were some of the best hooves he'd worked with so wish us luck the long journey begins again!
