Going from a cotton Stubben Girth to leather elasticated sizing?

I currently use a Stubben cotton girth which I had for my previous horse and I want to change to a leather both sided elasticated girth

I believe mine is a 115cm currently and I was wondering if anyone has any advice on how many cm/inches to take off when buying a double sided leather girth?

I thought the whole point of elastic ended girths was to allow for a little expansion with the horses movement? So I would buy a girth at the usual length and fasten it at the usual tightness.
