I leave a week tomorrow for my holiday, wooo! Only problem is i have to leave my horse.. obviously haha. She is on livery where she is mucked out, feeding and hay put into her and turnout but i leave everything out for them and do everything else myself. I get on with all the girls my age at the yard but they aren't quite as experienced, she needs to be ridden, but i know that the girls are forgetful and might forget to put her boots on/put her rug back on after/forget to make feeds. Do you think im just overreacting, and do you think a week is too long to leave her without being ridden? I HATE DECISIONS AND STRESS! AHHHHHH!

Are you able to put a little white board up by your stable?
I'm lucky that mine dont need riding or anything other then a water check when i go away, however I do have a friend that comes to ride sometimes. What i do is leave all important info on a whiteboard by the stable as a mini check list so that nothing is forgotten. Would this be possible to do?

Don't worry!!! Go away any have a nice relaxing horse and mud free holiday! Why not give her a nice week off being ridden if you are worried? When I am away mine is never ridden and is happy on my return. If you are worried about people forgetting things then give her a chill week, boots/ rugs etc being forgotten are then nothing to worry about! Have fun!!! Oh yes... and relax!

The stables are outdoors, so not sure that would work:( hmm, we do have a book/diary thing in the tackroom where lessons, hacks are written in and we can also write in wee favours but i don't want to ask too much of my YO because she's a very busy lady (runs a riding school also, 50+ horses on the yard and only has one girl during on weekdays till 4pm).

Thats quite a good idea, thinking that my holiday=her holiday! Thankyou lol, i've had a whole year of non stop-ness, no days off apart from when i'm ill so a break would be lovely!

You can leave a horse a week to ten days without being ridden and without losing fitness. If left for much longer than fitness will decline, so I would just give her the time off!
