Poor thing x

Not sure I really understand......firstly I was not aware the RSPCA did routine house calls for the type of situation u describe, and secondly why was the dog actually taken away.......you describe the dog scratching your brother but not actually biting
confused.gif
You also describe him as a 7 month old puppy

So basically why was he taken away?
Have you phoned the authorities that took him/did you give permission to have him destroyed?

how did the rspca find out. what i dont understand is the fact that the dog is 7months old and did not bite?! the only reason for them to take the dog away is if someone reported it. also this dog is under the dangerous dog act.. because its staff; is it not? if this is the case and has been reported because it has bitten someonexxxx

certainly looks like a Pitbull to me - I too am confused with this post - however I'm afraid that, given his breed type, if he has been taken away he almost certainly wll have been PTS -I do feel very sorry for you as you obviously love the dog -
frown.gif

if he has pit bull like looks he will sadly be pts. what i dont get is a)why your brother got him? and b) why the fuk was the poor dog taken away, if he never even bit???????????????????

How harsh is that?!! Poor dog didnt even bite anyone and has most probably been pts. So cruel. Even in the video it looked like the poor dog was being teased.
Out of order that a puppy should be pts for 'scratching' someones arm! And a puppy? my brothers 4month old lab does worse than scratching, nibbles and chews fingers etc, but id never dream of phoning the rspca especially if i loved him as much as you say you do!
And to even get a dog which is now 'banned' in this country? WTF?
Im sorry but this post has really made me cross, theres enough dogs in the world that get pts and abandoned without people like you making a mistake with breed and getting the dog pts for something that isnt even his fault.

Likewise on so may levels!

1) What owner can say they've never been scratched by their dog. We don't call it 'attacked'.

2) What owner would call the RSPCA and ask them to take their dog away unless the dog had actually savaged someone.....even then I would have taken the dog to the vet myself.

3) The video plainly shows the dog being taught to pull and jump at something.... only a step away from the training a pitbull gets to fight

4) What's he got a dog with pitbull in it for in the first place? Because they're status symbols and as such are discarded like rubbish when they act true to type or people get bored with them

My speakers have packed up....what's the 'sound of aggression' bit?

How come the new puppy and Ice were allowed to remain at your brothers; assuming they are also allegedly pitbulls?

I have to say none of them look like American Pitbulls to me - they look like boxer crossed with staff, bull terrier or something.

See, to me, they do look like Pit puppies. I could be wrong, obviously, but you tend to see a lot of them in NYC.

What really angered me was the fact that your brother, on his other video, is egging the dog on to attack and latch onto a branch and called it "dog fight". I'm not detecting much irony, either
mad.gif

Have to agree............looks like it has alot of pitbull in to me.
As to the video clip stating "how could he be so agressive" the answer to that is easy ANY DOG CAN BE AGRESSIVE WHEN OWNED BY AN IRRISPONSIBLE T*sser.
confused.gif

I agree with DOUGIE dog is better off away from these people........lets just hope they dont bother to get another
mad.gif

Hmm perhaps. I used to see, and knew, loads of Pitbulls when I lived in PA but none of them looked like those dogs. They all had big wide muzzles, not that long rounded nose that those dogs have and they had absolutely HUGE chests and very muscular back legs. Maybe the British version is different?

These are just like the ones I knew: American Pit Bulls

That's by the by though - surely if the RSPCA went to their house and took one dog....would they really leave the other 2?

The RSPCA have little to no powers (not at all like the welfare officers in USA, which I assume are similar to those in Canada), so would probably only have taken the one animal.

Have to say the dog looked more staffie to me than anything else, but believe in previous posts Playboy has claimed the dog is/was a PBT cross.
confused.gif

I didn't realise there were 2 other pit bull types left at this address........it just confirms what I thought. Dogs are not replaceable like cars mate! You don't get bored with one and replace it with another. This whole thing bloody stinks and explains why the rescue centres are full of discarded staffy types and dogs of this sort. You're a bunch of wasters and shouldn't be posting on here. This forum if for dog LOVERS

I notice that PLAYBOY hasn't responded to any of our comments.... ashamed, embarrassed, can't be arsed or don't really give a toss?

Another very odd Playboy post.

Agree that the dog certainly looks like a pit bull or part bred. And suppose that that is why the RSPCA took it away to be destroyed as they are illegal.

Poor little mut. But if people will continue to breed them.............

Precisely! I've not come into "contact" with said individual particularly but have seen a few post's by them. What amazes me is that us guys always reply (because we're good and kind like that) and the original post maker doesn't!! Would suggest a hoax to me
confused.gif
(Think we'd all be better advised to reply to those who seem to post genuine issues IMHO)

I find it quite odd that someone posts something such as this but then does not respond and the initial post was unspecific if I recall correctly. There was no real question just the statement of what had supposedly happend!! I'd say a hoax. Didn't really get my blood going as such just find it quite amusing that someone posts these sorts of things!
wink.gif

I don't usually post very much, but after seeing this it sickened me. This has definitely got to be a hoax of some sort. Poor bl***y dog is all I can say. Like previously mentioned this is a forum for dog lovers not irresponsible dog owners! After owning my own pit bull, before the legislation came in all those years ago, it saddens me how they fall into the hands of such idiotic owners. My girl was the softest sweetest girl ever it is such a shame that due to owners like this they have been given such a bad name. Sorry for the rant, but these type of issues with pit bulls really annoy and upset me.

Well, to be fair we don't know that it was a pit bull.

But also Senty, I wouldn't get too wound up over this. Playboy has a habit of being a bit mellodramatic. So whilst the story may on one level be true - it may very well not be.

My dog is a staff x whippet and people constantly ask me if she is a pit bull, even though she is a lot smaller built, people cant actually think for themselves and if the Daily Mail tells them that a dog that looks like this is bad they believe them. I for one do not believe the RSPCA have the legal power to destroy a dog without the owners permission, they could only do this if the dog had caused a serious incident NOT scratching and it makes me cross as hell when my little dog gets tarred by this brush, she is a total soppy angel (as long as you are not a cat!)

heres a pic ( she was only about a year here and has filled out a bit)

Yours is Lovely little dog.....I would definatley say staffyxwhippet.....we gets loads in as rescues.....they make lovely little pets.
I think the origional poster/family/owner of the dog sounds like an a*se no matter what breed it would have been.....they are cleary part of the irrisponsible majority of dog owners
frown.gif

Like others have mentioned it may have been a made up fairytale either way it sounds sick to me
