I am going to take the plunge and buy a horsebox. Looking to spend about 5k. Needs to carry min two horses and be able to drive on car licence. Need day live in and thats about it in requirements.
What specs should I be looking for and any perticular make? Aware i am only going to get an old box but cant afford any more than 5k.
Any advice gratefully recieved

When did you pass your test?
Only asking cos if you an oldy like me then you can drive a 7.5t if not you will only be able to drive a 3.5t.
Check unladen weight as not many 7.5t can carry 3 horses, kit etc legally. Also be careful as with your budget unfortunately I dont think it will get you much unless you fall lucky.

You can drive a 7.5 ton on a car licence passed before 1997,
Would say a leyland daf is the safest bet for a budget like that,
just make sure the box bit is good and solid, floor etc and the cab isnt rotten or been bodged up, new paint is a giveaway
