Went with my parents to look at a little 16 month old girl yesterday......I spent 2 minutes in the house then walked back out. They had 6 dogs inc. a staffie and a JRT and the dogs just rung rings around the owners.....I bent down to say hello to the cocker (careful not to tower over her) and gently put my hand out for her to sniff and she growled at me.....definitely not a dog who knows her place!! They also had a little Cav that my mum fell in love with so I think she's chosen what breed she'll have when her cats go to the big cattery in the sky.

Anyway, I had a call last night about a lovely orange and white boy, 18 months old. The owner is on her 4th pregnancy and with her husband being away most of the time, she can't cope with him anymore. When she said 'oh he only needs 30 mins exercise a day and is not bouncy' I thought this was too good to be true :-) He'd obviously get alot more with me (have a massive field out the back of my house and he'd come to the stables with me) so really looking forward to meeting him. Recall is a bit sketchy but that doesn't bother me as I'm happy to put the work in but he doesn't 'seem' to have any issues.

I do have pics but I don't want to put them up until I've actually rehomed him (if I rehome him) but will PM if anyone's interested!

So excited.......

Probably very insecure and perhaps bullied as well as not knowing her place, Cesar made some great points about meeting dogs last night and how you should always let them come to you.
Sounds like a Sh!thole though....

Good luck with this one, no wonder she can't cope with it if she is only walking it 30 mins a day...oh well, I suppose she is pregnant, she can't be out tramping around all day.

Well that's just it - the dog is not stressed or bouncing around but she just thinks he needs a home where he'll get more one to one love......

I've always been like that with dogs I don't know - I'm just of the opinion you can't force yourself on any animal really......

I have a Cocker Spaniel, he is the most adorable, affectionate and loyal dog you could wish for. Only downside is he does like to bark..... (quite often at nothing in particular).
