Going to see a horse but now owner not replying :(

I need some positive viiiiibes :p I have been corresponding with a my prosective horse's owner. She has been good at emailing back. She said she had allot of interest but that she would let me view first. We set up a meet for Saturday early morning to see the horse. I emailed her this morning to ask a question and she hasn't replied.

I know I am being paranoid (or am I? :eek:) but I keep thinking she has sold him :( or that something is wrong. Humph :( Sorry to moan. Do people just act keen and helpful then disappear off the face of the earth in the buyng and selling world!? :confused:

What to dooooo.....:(:confused:
 
Why don't you call her? I wouldn't be worried, you still have a whole day and 2 nights before Sat for her to reply :).
 
She might have been busy. But don't (in my bitter experience anyway) go and see the horse until you have spoken to her to confirm that the horse is still for sale and she is expecting to see you at a certain time etc. some sellers can be as tricky as buyers.

We have agreed a specific time on saturday and i have her address :)

Me being paranoid 'an all, I would still give her a buzz Friday night Sat am just to confirm. ( I once went on a 4.5 hour journey to be a second set of eyes for a friend and when we got there someone else had viewed the horse the previous day and left a deposit so you may see why I am a bit paranoid:))

Oooh, please phone and check before you go a long way!

I had seen a horse I liked, viewed with a 'knowledgeable friend' etc and arranged to hack her out before paying a deposit the following Saturday. She promised me that she would let me know if anyone else came and I would have first refusal. It was half term and, as I am a teacher, I was off all week. I offered to go over during the week for the hack, but she couldn't make it. I phoned and emailed a few times over the week - we got on like a house on fire; she even invited me to stay (with the horse) for a week in the summer for a kind of 'camp' - such fun!

Anyway, on the following Saturday I was driving over (luckily only about 45 minutes away), with my cheque in my hand when she txted to say the horse was sold; no word of apology or explanation.

I learned my lesson then, not to trust the word of any seller and the only way your horse is 'yours' is if money has changed hands.

Without being rude, could it possibly be because you e mailed her at work and she was busy with work related things that she thought were more important? Perhaps she thought she'd told you a lot, and that it was really now a case of you seeing it at the weekend to make your own opinion... It sounds as though you are a bit control freak/paranoid (I say that because I can be, and get myself into panic systems without much happening), and perhaps its starting to grate that you're e mailing a lot, and she wants to have some space?? Don't mean that rudely, just that its much more exciting for you than her perhaps...

I am going to see a horse this weekend and asked the seller to send me some pics and she wasnt very helpful trouble is it will be 2 hours return journey and I have already looked at so many blooming ones!

I fully understand how you feel and perhaps she is busy with work etc and if I was selling a horse I would be helpful. Some people do not seem to realise the effort put in by either side.

If you havent heard by 3pm tomorrow I would then be paranoid! But give her a chance to get back to you. Leave it until after 3pm.

Looked at a horse today and I did confirm the day before just to make sure the viewing was still on. I now go with an open mind as I am getting use to the disappointment.
 
She still hasn't emailed. I haven't contacted at the risk of coming across as a weirdo! :rolleyes:

Sooooooo.......I think I will just rock up tomorrow regardless and assume everything is hunky dorey :D

I would still try & ring her beforehand. I once went to look at a pony about an hour away but while we were there she seemed to be in a rush to get us out of the way. Later that night I rang her to say we would have the pony only to be told it had been sold & she had taken a deposit on it before we went. The new owners were actually on their way to pick it up while I was there but she let me see it anyway incase they backed out!! Annoyed was not the word!!!

That IS VERY annoying :mad:
 
What made it worse is we were trying to find an 11.2hh 2nd pony which were like rocking horse poo!!! It was 1 of 2 we found & other was no good either!!
 
That is a bit annoying. She could have e mailed to say she was too busy but would see u on sat. On the positive side, she hasn't e mailed to say don't come, which I would expect her to do if it was sold. Is it far away? I'd perhaps give her a ring to confirm tonight or tomorrow eve, and keep looking for other horses too. Fingers crossed for you (bet after all this you won't even like it!).

For goodness sake!! Please just ring her to confirm to make sure the horse is still for sale before you drive there. There is no harm in making sure to prevent you having a wasted journey.
