So, I had a lady reply to my advert of looking for a horse to loan / share. The upshot is that tonight I am meeting her and going to the yard to meet the horses and have a ride. The deal is that I get as much riding as I like 6 days a week for £80 a month. No stable duties at all unless I really want to. I'm a little nervous as I haven't ridden for aout 4 months, and I did convey that to the lady. One is a 16.2hh mare and the other a 17.2hh gelding (eek, a bit big!) and she said she would ideally like someone who is willing and able to ride both of them so that if she wanted to hack one of them out I could ride the other. So, what else should I be asking her about??

What kind of temperament does it have?
Does it have any quircks?
What is is like to catch?
What is it like on the roads?
Does it nap?

I'm sure there are loads more that people will give you......

Also what does your money cover? Extras to pay for like shoes, vets, insurance etc etc etc
Also if you ask exactly what she is looking for then you wont have any misunderstandings!
Sounds boring i know but what ever you do you should get the agreement set in writing.

The £80 is it, she said that there was nothing on top for shoes, vets etc etc. I agree that anything decided must be done in writing. Both horses are apparently very well behaved, will see tonight I guess. I'm very, very nervous though!

Eek, I'm off in 20 mins, am VERY nervous! Will tell all when I get back
