I'm going to view some yards this week. As I'm moving my horse to Liverpool in September.

What questions should I be asking as I walk around.
I was 11 when we moved to the yard I'm leaving now and can't remember anything.

Thanks in advance :D

Off the top of my head here are some.......

* What are the turnout arrangements - All year round? Winter? Mares/geldings separate?
* Poo picking expectations
* Facilities and their use - e.g. if they have a school, how often can you use it, do you have to book it etc?
* What is their worming programme?
* Is there on-site supervision?
* What your type of livery involves, for example "part livery" means different things to different people?
* Secure tack room?
* What is the hacking like?
* Space to store horsebox or trailer?
* What are the yard rules?
* Storage space for all your stuff?

Hope that helps? Good luck! I hope you find a lovely yard. x

If it's not DIY ask how horse care and changes to their regime work - eg. Does your horse have a specific groom, who do you go to and how with changes to feed etc.

I'd also ask for a copy of the yard regime - you should know that your horse is being feed/turned out/given hay/checked at specific times.

Who is responsible for buying feed - if the yard buys it, how limited are your choices?

What things occur an extra charge eg. Extra bedding
