Considering going there soon and wondering whats it like (arena size/surface/light wise, as well as courses - BSJA)? Is it worth the trip?

Summer is lovely well maintained grass arena. Winter indoors, with outdoor warm up. Good surfaces. Friendly. Good courses. They have a 2day derby show at end of July - which is always good fun.

Grass arena is awesome always well maintained, in the summer warm up is indoors. Nice people too, they have an fb page which is always up to date - they run clear round on grass on Friday evenings too!

Grass arena is really nice. Big warm up indoors - bit deep in places. Lots of car park space and great burger van

it says its in the Chalvington Ring, is that on grass? sounds good though! are the jumps scary/tough courses/built up to height etc?

Chalvington Ring is the grass arena. Good surface and well presented fences. Warmup is indoors. Top food wagon and a friendly welcome.

Courses are built as per schedule... Not oversize but no small either. There is a slight gradient in the ring so be prepared to jump a little uphill ad downdale

Love the grass jumping there but really hate the indoor - deep in places and was quite dusty last time I went. Some horses seem to find the indoor spooky but fortunately not mine! I prefer royal leisure for indoors now they have upgraded their surface etc.
