Wouldn't have her down as a top judge of jumping technique though
tongue.gif
She was the scariest instructor in pony club when I was at that level though....she would have taught Pippa (Funnell) too

Oh, forgot to ask you something - was there any secret arena for warming up or were the horses with high scores just masters of 12mins warm up?
confused.gif

We went for a walk up and down the lane but was only allowed in the warm up for either just walk or the 12min jumping training.
Did you and helenshadow find somewhere to warm up prior the warm up with the trainer or was it enough for your horses?
Have you managed to sort out the video? Didn't see your round so I am quite curious

lol nope! i literally only had a 12min warm up BUT i did do the clear round an hour earlier - but that didnt really make much difference other than she had seen the indoor school
wink.gif
She is honestly just a very straight forward horse as warm up goes though still not a simple ride, therefore a 12min warm up was plenty
wink.gif

will get that video sorted tonight if i can

I walked round for about 10 mins then had my warm up, and it was plenty. Shadow was a cow though! She was bucking and she was really strong and taking off too early, then we went splat when she tried to put down over the fence!!

I don't usually jump that much in the warm up tbh, I just warm up on the flat for 10 mins then jump a couple of fences.

Hmm, I never jump more than a couple of times either but I like to do a nice 20 or so minute flatwork session so a horse and I are tuned in (to be fair I usually compete horses I don't ride on a daily basis so like to have this bit more time to suss out his/her mood etc). Agree that 12min for jumping alone is plenty. Just regretted there was no flatwork warm up available.

Just thought, there were plenty of young riders there - people my age could have felt a bit out of place
wink.gif
Would you say Grasshoppers is mostly teenagers focused?

Yep I see your point. I think a 12 min jump warm up is more than enough but it would have been nice to have longer on the flat and be allowed to have a good trot and canter before jumping. I didn't get to canter before I jumped which was probably why she started bucking after the first fence!

I was expecting there to be more adults actually, there were more people there my age than I was expecting. I didn't think it was aimed at a particular age group.

i was amazed at how many youngsters and people my age there were there, some were most def. only in the year of their 12th birthday and i was expecting the majority to be adults. though i think they was still large age range though it seemed like there were more children/teenagers than there were adults - it made for varied competition

guess i should mention that i have put the videos up in the pic gallery BUT they are really bad quality and go very fast!!
blush.gif
it'll give you all an idea though
