Golden Labrador Name Suggestions please

Not for me.....one gundog is enough for me, although I LOVE Labradors.

My friend has just brought home a lovely new addition to her family after sadly losing her old Labrador Jake.

The new one, a little boy, needs a name. I thought you lovely people could start leaving suggestions and I'll steer my friend in the direction of the thread shortly.

Squire. I knew a gorgeous lab called Squire many many moons ago and I always think it suits labs/retrievers.

I am currently looking for a yellow lab pup as I've just had to have my 4yo fox terrier pts, and I have been put off all the ads saying "golden" cos I reckon they don't know what they are talking about

Patches, I think naming is such a personal thing, I wouldn't like to suggest anything really - I tend to go with places or things I pass by or through on the way back from getting the puppy - we called a Border terrier Polo because that was the first car we saw when we picked her up, and another one Dimple because we were given a bottle of Dimple Haig the day she arrived. I go with hunting type names for my hunting type dogs - so perhaps your friend could think of something really relevant to her? I also like names that not everyone else has ...

I'm not a Lab person, in my defence. I know about the colours for Cockers but that's about it.

I think most of the adverts do say Golden though...so they're leading us philistines to get it wrong. To be fair to my friend she has announced she has a yellow lab on facebook so she's clearly on the ball

There was a shortlist of Oscar, Harry, Austin and Alfie. They've chosen Alfie.

I'd never call my lab (yes it's a lab in my sig, not a seal ) yellow - it sounds so ugly! She's definitely golden Alfie's a lovely name, one of my favourites.

Thank you for that, although I think I am the only person that misses him the elderly (yellow!) lab and the 3 cats think all their Christmases have come at once he was special to me though
