A pointles post other than i am so pleased with myself.

Decided to change my old cattle shed into something i could use for the horses, so was speaking about what to do i said i would love to get some of those monarch stables and do a proper job. so my father said why dont you then, well the cost one thing.
so thought i would have a look on ebay and that very day had been listed some wood and steel stables. 1 12*12 and 2 12*20 i wanted some bigger ones for my guys and these looked perfect.
the description was sketchy but i thought they were worth a punt and 4 days later the auction ended and they were mine! hired a van the next day and collected them. massive job as when we turned up they had not disassembled them, never mind we cracked on and got them home.
well they are amazing hard wood bespoke stables. got them all fitted, then thought well we might as well do it proper. so we boarded them all in and painted them. new lighting, then a wash bay with a new gas heater. then some heat lamps, well i might as well put a new tack room in.
still some work to do but for what they have cost me i could not be happier.

Your stables are stunning. Congratulations on your bargain, it's like it was meant to be lol

I have to admit to taking a look through your photos as I wondered what was going on in one of them at the bottom - it turned out to be a calf being fed. I think I need a visit to Specsavers. So I have to say that your? cattle are beautiful, and the photography is stunning. What breed are they? The piglets in a pile are just adorable. Oh, and what is that meat covered in bacon?

They are dexters. the little calf in the hat is gracie a little calf that needed so much work to survive. she never grew and stayed at about 24 in tall. she died last year and was like losing a member of the family.
Giant pork chops a feast prepared by a visiting chef friend. used to have a farm butchery business.

12x20 o_O that's bigger than the entire upstairs of my house! (which is 2 bedrooms and a small loft space)

I have stable envy (my boxes at the yard are 9x8 (3x2.75m) and are considered "roomy" in France!)

looks lovely, you must be so pleased, to nice to put the horses in :) I love your name plates made of horse shoes, that's a really nice idea

9*8 who do you have to squeezze in there? sounds really small!

The signs on the doors where made by my farrier, something he does as a side line.

tomorrow is the big move in day, i will take some pics of the installed team ;-)

Believe it or not, but I moved from a yard where the external boxes were 6x8feet (and they had 16hh+) horses in them!
