Lovely warm sunny day, so have turned itchy, moulting horse out with no clothes on

He lulled me into a sense of (probably false) security by wandering off and eating grass. I suspect that I will be greeted by a vast, smug mud monster later!

Straw in his tail - I should be strung up. Shoddy work indeed...
 
Buds is too, its beautiful here. No doubt he will of coloured in all of his white parts by the time I see him later.
 
Removed our Belgian drafts rug this morning. The YO said "are you sure you want to that that he'll get wet and muddy" but with the fun being out here till tomorrow evening his rug is staying in and he is staying out. I'm sure he's grateful that he can have a good roll ;)
 
Mine are all out naked..the boys love to be mud pie making and the girls swear by a good mud pack. your boy looks lovely..do you have any more pics?
 
Mines only rugged overnight at the moment. First thing she does is roll in the nastiest wet place she can find. And she's grey. And everytime she rolls, I'm just happy that at 23 she can still go right over. Just annoying that daughters unrugged bay pony is the cleanest thing going, only ever seems to roll or lie down on dry patches.
 
Yesterday i was wrapping mine up from ear to tail as so wet and cold and this morning i am putting fly spray on! Odd weather :rolleyes:
 
Mine are all naked too. Hopefully F will roll this morning and dry off in time for the mud to be brushed off as I'm hoping to clip this afternoon. After that he will be rugged mostly I imagine. But then, knowing the British weather this year, it could turn tropical and he will be in a bikini all winter :D

He IS lovely! Am rapidly reaching the conclusion that he is my favourite horse out of all that I've owned! Loads of pics - mostly on his Facebook page (Fans of Alf)
 
Mine are both naked today even wossy WB its a lovely day and they are moulting so they will love a good roll- nothing wrong with a bit of mud!
 
It's lovely to hear about all these happy muddy horses! Just drove past my field, and although its too far away from the road to be sure - he didn't look as orange as usual - so I suspect he has been wallowing!

Yuk! Mind you - seen worse from him!

I am ashamed to admit that the shininess has nothing to do with hours of grooming - combination of sunlight and linseed!
 
My mare does exactly the same Nikicb! Both of ours have just been in nofills because of the rain but have had them off today - I bet when I go down there later Bella will be black and Puzzle will have rolled in more sheep poo :p
 
Ours also naked, well haffy not rugged yet anyway. Mums cob has a neck & belly clip, but is out naked for a few hours & my heinz57 has got his off also :)
 
Well - just been up to feed him, and can report that he is utterly useless at being a mud monster.

and he was very rude when I told him he was rubbish...

Well must be something in the air because Bud wasn't even that bad!!

They will be storing it back up for an even wetter muddier day :p

Rug back on as a bit cold and drizzly here over night. xx
 
Its been a stunning day to get some lovely sun on their backs :)
I whipped rug off my friends mare who I am looking after as its dry for the next day or so, she was happy in the sun munching her hay, she is not that keen on rugs anyway bless her, and Nell is still very much naked :D
 
My cob and fat Irish sports horse are naked still all the time unless its horrible rain. My Arab x has one on at night or when it's raining.
 
I've left his rug off tonight. It's very mild, and he's only in a no fill Amigo anyway. He could do with growing a bit more coat, so he's staying nakey.
 
Silly old fool. Turned out for 24 hours naked, and didn't roll once. Moment he has his rug back on - he's making like a turtle all over the place!
