Hi all
I am now onto my 5th snow day at school. The problem is that I am one of the teachers! I managed to get in to work one day and I was the only one there so couldn't open the place anyway! I live in a small moorland village and the school is 10 miles away in another small village. My horse lives in the small village at a farm opposite the school! Fortunately my friend is doing him along with her horse so my beastie is fine.
I recently bought a vw beetle which I have wanted for ages but as you can imagine is crap in the snow. My OH has a 4x4 campervan but even that isn't good enough for the steep hills we have round here, plus he has low profile tyres on it (men!!!)
We can;t get rid of either car as we need the vw as a cheap runner and the campervan for surfing. So do we just bite the bullet and get a proper 4x4. OH and I think we can afford to spend about £4-5k. It would mean I could get to work AND tow trailer.
What experience do people have of owning an additional car ie with insurance etc? What would be the best 4x4 for towing/snow wrangling? I was thinking L200? I am sure someone posted like this bfore - sorry for repeating!
