Just a fun thread :D

What are the good points and the bad points of your horse?

for example

My horse is a 14.2 arab mare. 17 year old.

Shes my best friend
Shes affectionate
Shes funny
Shes got cracking conformation
She jumps amazing (when i can get her to the fence :P)
She always makes me laugh
Shes good to load
I wish she was younger
I wish she was a bit bigger
I wish she wasn't as complicated as she is, i got her as a rising 16 year old and had to rebreak her after 8 years of doing nothing.
Shes a bit phsycotic at times
She likes to rear, buck and occasionally rodeo, maybe even bronk when i'm bareback or when shes fresh.
She tries to kill me when I ride her in anything other than her french link fulmer snaffle (so i often don't have any breaks xD)
I trust her when shes at her worst.
Shes edgy with people she doesnt know, inc dentist, farrier and other people at work

But this all makes my mare the mare she is :D

Now you're turn :D

Red :D
Good:

Bad:
To honest for his own good
Will spook at things at flat out gallop
Very fussy with his mouth
Still spooks at stuff in the school which he goes in nearly every day
Not the best conformation
Very poor doer
Could be a tad smaller- he's full up 17hh and I'm only 5'6"
He's nearly 13
And a tad 'special' ;)

But none of that matters cos he's my best friend and I love him no matter what, yes, he can be a pain up the backside but I don't care and I wouldn't swop him for the world :)

Good points:
Is good in all traffic
Is super easy to jump, if you dont mind a bit of head shaking as she gets excited
Easy to do in allways, literly!.
Doesnt spook at random plastic bags etc

Bad points:
Can be a cow bag when having a tantrum, rear & bronc - this seems to have stopped now tho.
Can be a pain to hack out in company in fields if one starts to behave
has a fussy mouth!
I have to work really hard to get her on my side, which is coming along nicely now:)
Shes the most talented, yet frustrating & quirky horse ive ridden

Saying all this, i love her to pieces :)

Good points:

15'1 Cob

GOOD POINTS

The safest horse I have ever ridden.
Can be loving
Doesn't spook.
good to lead
Can be very lazy which for me is a good thing, I'm quite nervous and I know he won't bolt rear or buck.

Bad points

He's 19 I wish I had found him 10 years ago.
Very grumpy at times
Greedy!!!!! very good doer.

Good points
Lovable, good natured ginger beastie who really tries hard in the school and puts up with his geriatric owner clambering on from the mounting block.

Bad points
Apart from covering himself from head to hoof in mud when turned out and trying to splatter the farrier from time to time, he has no real bad points.

But of course I am biased....

Highland mare 13.3 hh, 12 years old

Works in a good outline and quick to learn new things

Forward going and fun but safe

Always strikes off on the right leg :)

Trust her completely

Excellent loader and good with farrier, vet etc

Bad points

Bit grumpy in stable

Been through six saddles because she's so hard to fit

Wish she were a couple of inches bigger sometimes!

Highland gelding 14.2 hh, 8 years

Good conformation which means he moves extremely well for his breed

Good natured in stable

Loves hacking and always has his ears pricked

Naturally works in an outline

Bad points

Can be lazy

Very greedy

Bucks when he thinks you are asking too much of him

Scared of cobwebs, tiny pieces of white paper, anything on the yard which has been moved to a new location

I love them both though and I am lucky to have them :)

Ellie's good points:
- She's beautiful :)

- She has amazing scope - far more than I ever needed or will need
- She's great to clip, shoe, box
- She's snaffle mouthed
- She loves jumping, and gives me an amazing feel over a fence
- She will hack alone or in company
- Although she's grumpy in the box, she can be very affectionate
- She is incredibly well behaved when confined to her box
- She's my best friend :o

Ellie's bad points:
- She's far too good for me...I don't deserve her :(
- She's nearly 16, and I wish she was 6 again :(
- She's spooky, very sharp and unpredictable...but that's why I love her so much!
- She cannot canter in a nice outline. Just cannot do it.
- She's the epitome of a total tart, which can cause problems re. turnout arrangements
- She seems to think 'field time' = 'suicide mission'
- She's naughty to turn out; she pulls away in the gateway before you've released her, earning her the label of 'dangerous' at our previous yard
- I don't trust her back end around other horses!

About him to the end of time!

The best bits about him (and there are tons so will try and keep the list short) are:-
- He is the most willing, honest horse in the world. He's straightforward to train, clever and will do anything for you. He has given me so much confidence especially jumping because he never stops, never let's me down and always looks after me. He also is up for everything and will try his best and enjoys himself wether it's dressage, SJ, XC whatever.
- Hes beautiful and talented
- He's very laid-back and doesnt mind being left in the field or stable in his own.
- He has a very sweet, funny sense of humour and a lot of character, he has me in stiches sometimes!

Bad Points, there are only 2 I can think of!
- He has to be turned out on his own and he enjoys chewing his field mates rugs and their owners get fed up of their horses rugs being torn.
- He is pretty laid-back but when he does spook or gets excited he is SHARP! He won't do anything horrid to make me fall off but he can be very extravagant! For instant I can be plodding along out hacking on a long rein and then something happens to spook him and he explodes 10 feet in the air and you find yourself suddenly facing the wrong way lol! He is a young TB so will probably grow out of it but I do get some gasps from onlookers! Then he goes back to plodding again ;).

I adore him so much, he's my dream horse :)
